The Island of Maurice, located in the south west part of the Indian Ocean is best known for its beaches, but there is also a whole world of nature to discover. Le Morne Brabant will allow you to enjoy the ultimate in green tourism.
At an altitude of over 550m, Morne Brabant is an abrupt and wild mountain located in the south west of the island of Maurice and endowed with a particular ecosystem. It is one of the most spectacular summits of the island.
Several types of excursions exist to climb the Morne Brabant. The hike takes place in three hours and the whole family can participate. The trek is done in two stages and requires a good physical condition. You will first follow a steep path up half the mountain and then reach the summit by ropes installed on the rock walls. Trail running is for the more athletic.
Classified as a Unesco World Heritage site, Morne Brabant is also a place full of history because the mountain was the refuge of the chestnuts, a sanctuary for slaves.

At the summit you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Bénitiers Island, the Fournaux islet, the most beautiful lagoons on the island and the Fond Blancs. The Morne beaches are located on the western part of the peninsula at the foot of Morne Brabant.
The public beach with its white sand and turquoise waters is one of the most stunning on the island.
